It’s Not You, It’s DMF.

DMF February was awesome as always.  We did a cute little thing with a February ‘love/anti-love’ theme—before entering the party, you had to choose a button to represent you for the evening.  They said either “I Choose Love” or “I Choose Dance.”  Not surprisingly, Dance won.

Check. It. Out.

Brandon Flowers, Take Me, I’m Yours!!

So this has nothing to do with any “trade” of which I’m a master (mistress?) “Jane,” other than, I suppose, my proclivity to obsess with celebrity, but it was still an important day in my life and might as well be immortalized on mandylevy.com, or at least immortalized for as long as I keep paying the hosting bills (they jacked it up 35 bucks this year!  F-U, economy!).  Anyway, I’ll get on with it.  I saw the Killers front row at the Grand Ole Opry and got a cold after making out with Brandon Flowers’ water bottle.  (**This happened to me and my bff Lesley once before, only it involved Sting’s wine glass during the ‘Brand New Day’ 2000 tour.  Together, we coined our ailment an STD… StingTransmittedDisease.)

Here are some choice pics.  I was shaking more than I have since the days of Nick Carter, so they mostly all suck.  But whatever, I know you’re jealous.

Weird Workout

PROJECTMILL‘s making a videoloop for the Milk Money Volume IV release party.  This issue is called “Weird Workout,” so that’s exactly what we’re doing!  We’re putting together a weirdass workout video to project on a wall at the party, and we had the shoot at our house this weekend.  It was awesome, and our lovely actors burned some major calories!  Here are a couple stills…

DMF_NYE

Happy New Year!  And Happy First Anniversary to mandylevy.com!  It’s been a really great year.  Busy, successful, fun.  I mean, I won an Emmy, after all.  What did you do?  Here’s to an even more fruitful 2009!

This also marks the 1-year anniversary of PROJECTMILL proper, not to mention the 6-month toast to Dance_MF.  The coolest party in town was on New Year’s Eve this month, and it was ridic.  Bad Veins joined the fun and played a ball-dropping set at midnight, and we had the best videoloop ever this time.  All the PROJECTMILL projectors dressed up to play out a mock-“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” where correspondents all the world around helped to ring in the cheer.  But DMF is seriously getting crazy.  It’s almost too popular now.  There’s hardly any room to dance anymore!  But I suppose we could have worse problems…

A December to Dismember

This month’s DMF was insane. You could barely breathe in the mass of dancing humanity—definitely our most successful night so far. CinWeekly even came out to take party pix! And this was all fantastic, because it was probably one of our more creative themes, too! "A December to Dismember." It all started with the idea of this fake horror movie, so we made a trailer, posters, and even a website devoted to the cult slasher film. CHECK IT OUT.

Also, I made "Family Christmas Card" invites full of blood and gore and dismemberments. Lookie here:

Fashion Forward

PROJECTMILL is teaming up with DAAP (University of Cincinnati School of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning) for their "Made in Cincinnati" fashion design exhibition. We’ll be creating video content for the meet and greet event, and part of the loop will include these pictures from a photo shoot we did a while ago… Designs by the lovely and talented seamstresses Lacey Voss, Andrea Sisson, and Lauren Koch; Photos by the lovely and talented photographer Mike DeGrazier.
